Immigration

Once you receive your acceptance letter, please follow the steps below to prepare for your arrival.

  • Set up your MultiPass
    • MultiPass  is your username and password for Duquesne's DORI portal, email, WiFi, and more. You will need your D number which can be found on your admission letter.
  • You will receive an email inviting you to the Duquesne Immigration Portal Follow the instructions.
  • Log into the  DuqGlobal Immigration Portal. 
    • Request a new I-20 or CS-2019 or transfer your I-20 or DS-2019 from another university.
  • Upload your documents in the Immigration Portal.
    • Bank statement of proof-of funds, passport and financial affidavit are required.
  • Download your I-20 once it has been issued.
  • Pay your SEVIS fee (I-901 fee)
    • You must pay a SEVIS fee of $350 (F-1 visa) or $220 (J-1 visa) at  www.fmjfee.com  with a valid credit card. Print a receipt to present at your visa interview later in the process.
  • Apply for your F-1 or J-1 visa
    • You must complete online visa application  and pay a fee as determined by your local US embassy or consulate. Next, make an appointment with the US embassy or consulate in your area for a visa interview.
